It’s been a while since I’ve updated things on here. In the meantime, the world came to an abrupt halt and I had to move all my students to remote lessons. The main reason I paused the YouTube lesson videos is I began work on a new course for Musiclessons.com. I decided that I was going to cover the basics of the bebop scales in a quick 4 part lesson to give people interested in such a few new exercises to build bebop vocabulary. However, that turned into a massive 6 section, 25 video course which starts at the very beginning of understanding the bebop scales and moves all the way through advanced technical exercises and finishes up with 10 transcribed bebop licks from some of my favorite soloists, Michael Brecker, Hank Mobley, Freddie Hubbard, Peter Bernstein, and Pat Martino. I’m currently in the editing phase of production and working out the tabbed PDF’s that accompany each video lesson. Look for a release in May and a preview video on YouTube in the next week!
